Today in our blog is the premiere of a rare video of one of Frank Farian's most successful projects LA BOUCHE. The famous song "Candle In The Wind" was written and first performed by Elton John. In 1997, Farian produced a gospel version for pop duo LA BOUCHE, which was published on the European release of their album "A Moment Of Love" (in the US the CD was released under the name "SOS" with a revised track list).
Thanks to the unique voice of LA BOUCHE soloist Melanie Thornton, the song has acquired a special charm and expressiveness. The effect was amplified by powerful choral support from artists working for FMP (Farian Music Production) at the time: NO MERCY, CHILLI, MA BELLE, Joan Faulkner, Christin Sargent, Freda Goodlett, Rejime and THE JACKSONS SINGERS. Of course, LA BOUCHE's longtime rapper Lane McCray also took part in the recording.
All proceeds from the sale of the track were transferred to Mother Teresa's charitable foundation, which is known all over the world for its actions to save the disabled, starving and indigent in India.
The video shown here was recorded by ZDF on 7th February 1998 at the Ostseehalle (Kiel, Germany). It was a live performance as part of the R.SH-Gold special show. The premiere of the TV version took place on February 20 of the same year.
The new edition of the video "Candle In The Wind" with the replacement of the original phonogram for the full album version was made by the members of FFFclub.

Знаменитая песня "Candle In The Wind" ("Свеча на ветру") была написана и впервые исполнена Элтоном Джоном (Elton John). В 1997-м году Фариан спродюсировал госпел-версию для поп-дуэта LA BOUCHE, которая была опубликована на европейском релизе их альбома "A Moment Of Love" (в США диск был выпущен под названием "SOS" с изменённым списком трэков).
Благодаря уникальному голосу солистки LA BOUCHE Мелани Торнтон (Melanie Thornton) песня приобрела особый шарм и выразительность. Видео, которое здесь представлено, было записано телекомпанией ZDF 7-го февраля 1998 года в концертном зале Ostseehalle (Киль, Германия). Это было живое выступление в рамках специального шоу R.SH-Gold. Премьерный показ телевизионной версии состоялся 20-го февраля того же года.
Новая редакция видео "Candle In The Wind" с заменой оригинальной фонограммы на полную альбомную версию была произведена силами участников FFFclub.
