Boney M.'s remix album "Rasputin - Lover of the Russian Queen" with several new tracks has gone on sale

On May 14, 2021, without prior notice, a digital release of a new remix compilation by Boney M. entitled "Rasputin - Lover of the Russian Queen" took place.

The release of the album follows the publication of a pilot single on Frank Farian's official youtube VEVO video channel. This is a hastily compiled collection of several original hits of the "classic" Boney M., as well as several remixes of past years "Rasputin" that appeared in the 90s, 2000s and 2010s. Of course, there is also the most current version from Majestic, which is now storming the charts all over the world. As bonuses, there are new tracks recorded by Farian together with his daughter Yanina (the already known cover of the Kool & The Gang song "Cherish"), as well as a mash-up mix by Frank Farian feat. Yanina, Boney M. & No Mercy – Cherish (The Life)/Rivers Of Babylon.

The album has already hit the French TOP200 and is in the charts of this country for the second week. It is not yet known if this will be available on CD or vinyl.

Boney M. "Rasputin - Lover of the Russian Queen" с несколькими новыми треками поступил в продажу

14 мая 2021 года, без предварительных уведомлений, состоялся цифровой релиз новой ремикс-компиляции Boney M. под названием "Rasputin - Lover of the Russian Queen".

Frank Farian feat. Yanina, Boney M. & No Mercy – Cherish (The Life)/Rivers Of Babylon.

The new remix version of "Rasputin" has caught up with the original on the UK Single Chart

The new remix "Rasputin" by Majestic & Boney M has been on the official UK TOP100 chart for 10 weeks. In 1978, the original version was also in the UK TOP 100 Singles for 10 weeks. The difference, however, is that the original reached N2, while the highest achievement of the DJ Majestic version so far is N18. At the end of last week "Rasputin" dropped one position (N19), but the potential of this composition has not yet been exhausted, therefore, at least, the remix will surpass the original in terms of the duration of its presence in the UK TOP100.

Currently the original and two remixes of "Rasputin" have charted in the UK for a total of 21 weeks.

Boney M. has climbed the global TOP200 of the most demanded artists of the musical digital platforms

In recent years, Boney M. usually appears in the global TOP-200 during the New Year period, when their Christmas and dance hits are especially in demand in the world. However, in 2021, this tradition was broken due to the increased demand for their 43-year-old bestseller "Rasputin", which has found its second youth on social media, especially on TikTok. In addition, this song has long attracted the creators of the Just Dance challenge, where it has enjoyed consistent success for over 10 years. Therefore, it is not surprising that the refreshed hit "Rasputin", modernized by British DJ Majestic earlier this year, has caused another surge of interest in the work of Frank Farian's most successful project.

According to the report of the statistical Internet portal KWORB, which monitors the position in the world digital download charts in real time on the iTunes, Apple Music and Spotify platforms, Boney M. has climbed to 148th place in the  TOP200 artists rating of the planet. This is quite an impressive result for the German music industry, given the fierce competition from newfangled K-pop youth projects, as well as from the artists from US and UK at the peak of popularity.

Majestic & Boney M. "Rasputin" reached №1 in UK iTunes

By the evening of March 31st, Majestic & Boney M.'s new remix "Rasputin" reached №1 on the UK iTunes Digital Download Chart. Thus, it became obvious that the total time of the hit "Rasputin" in the UK TOP-100 Singles is guaranteed to reach 15 weeks. This is one of those rare occasions that a 43-year-old bestseller is given a second life in the new century.

There has also been an increase in the number of purchases of this track on Apple Music and iTunes platforms in some key markets in continental Europe, Asia, Latin America and the Pacific region.

On April 2nd, "Rasputin" also improved its position in the US iTunes TOP-1000, moving up more than 300 points. At the time of this posting, the song was №691. The Russian iTunes TOP-1000 also saw an increase in the number of downloads by the end of the week, which allowed this hit to strengthen its positions in the local chart by more than 250 points (now №330).
