On July 1, 2021, the German TV channel SR, a member of the largest nationwide media group ARD, showed the documentary "Daddy Cool from Elversberg - Frank Farian's World Career", the announcement of which was published on our blog.
The 45-minute film did not contain even the 10th part of what should have been told about this no ordinary person, but only briefly described his career in the global music industry. The author paid special attention to the beginning of the creative formation of the singer, songwriter and producer, which took place in the federal state of Saarland, which is located in southwestern Germany. Even his avid fans know little about this period of the life of Franz Reuther (the real Frank Farian's name), so the beginning of the film is of particular interest.
Farian's career as a record producer flourished in the 70s - 90s of the XX century. It was then that such famous projects as Boney M., ERUPTION, FAR Corporation, MILLI VANILLI, LA BOUCHE and NO MERCY were created. However, not a word was said about such artists as The Falcons, Benny, Gilla, Precious Wilson and many others who also worked with Farian. Of course, the limited timing of the TV program does not allow covering everything that was done, but it is necessary at least to list the list of brilliant performers who also made a significant contribution to the development of the European music industry.
At the same time, music collectors learned about the release of new albums on Farian's MCI record label this year. For example, a double disc of his very first rock 'n' roll band "Die Schatten" ("Frankie Farian and the Shadows"), as well as a Boney M's remix compilation "Rasputin - Lover of the Russian Queen" with 2 new bonus tracks prepared by to the 80th anniversary of the legendary producer.
However, the situation with the famous Latin American pop trio NO MERCY is not entirely clear, since in recent years their new album has been periodically announced, although it has not see the light. So far we only know that the original NO MERCY lineup was featured on the track Frank Farian feat. Yanina, Boney M. & No Mercy - "Cherish (The Life) / Rivers Of Babylon" (mash-up mix) and in the video of the same name, which is already available on YouTube.
Obviously, the new project of the SR TV channel is just one of the episodes associated with the celebration of the anniversary of the most successful Germany's hit-maker. Surely in the coming weeks, this topic will be devoted to reports on various TV channels, radio stations and in the news publications.

1 июля 2021 года немецкий телеканал SR, входящий в крупнейшую общенациональную медиагруппу ARD, показал документальный фильм "Крутой папочка из Эльверсберга - мировая карьера Фрэнка Фариана", анонс которого был опубликован в нашем блоге.
45-минутный фильм не вместил в себя и 10-ю часть того, что следовало бы рассказать об этой незаурядной персоне, а лишь кратко описал его карьеру в мировой музыкальной индустрии. Особое внимание автор уделил началу творческого становления певца, автора песен и продюсера, которое проходило в федеральной земле Саар, что расположена на юго-западе Германии.
Об этом периоде жизни Франца Ройтера (Franz Reuther - настоящее имя Фрэнка Фариана) даже его заядлым поклонникам мало что известно, поэтому начало фильма представляет особый интерес.
Расцвет карьеры Фариана в качестве рекорд-продюсера приходится на период 70-х - 90-х годов XX века. Именно тогда были созданы такие большие проекты как Boney M., ERUPTION, FAR Corporation, MILLI VANILLI, LA BOUCHE и NO MERCY.
