On the last day of the outgoing year, the editors of the Internet resource FFFclub completed the editing of the maxi version of the title track from Boney M's album "Boonoonoonoos" (1981). Therefore, instead of the traditional "New Year's disco" with popular hits from Frank Farian's catalog, we will have a premiere of a new video.
2013 brought a lot of disappointments and tragedies, so we decided that a 12-minute video with views of sunny Jamaica, produced in cold Moscow, would at least slightly brighten someone's New Year's Eve and give hope for a better future.
Recall that in 1981, Boney M. came to the evergreen island on tour and to shoot a special promo film. In Kingston, the country's capital, the band was greeted by then-Prime Minister Edward Seaga, as well as Rita Marley, widow of the king of reggae music, Bob Marley. Moreover, Rita Marley even performed on stage together with Boney M., performing the immortal hit "Rivers of Babylon". At Bob Marley's Kingston studio, Boney M. has recorded part of the audio material for the "Boonoonoonoos" album.
In the work on the video version of the title track, we used archived film and video recordings of the German TV channel ZDF, and also supplemented them with new footage of the "dancing island" (this is how Jamaica is often called for the cheerful and temperamental nature of its residents).
By the way, if someone else doesn't know: both Boney M's vocalists (Marcia Barrett and Liz Mitchell) were born in Jamaica.
And one more interesting fact. The cryptic word "Boonoonoonoos" in the local Jamaican dialect of English means the capacious concept of "very very cool / very good".

В последний день уходящего года редакция интернет-ресурса FFFclub завершила монтаж макси-версии титульного трека альбома Boney M "Boonoonoonoos". Поэтому вместо традиционной "новогодней дискотеки" с популярными хитами из каталога Фрэнка Фариана у нас состоится премьера нового клипа.
2013-й год принёс много разочарований и трагедий, поэтому мы решили, что смонтированный в холодной Москве 12-минутный видеоролик с видами солнечной Ямайки хотя бы немного скрасит кому-то новогодний вечер и подарит надежду на лучшее будущее.
Напомним, что в 1981-м году Boney M. приезжали на вечнозелёный остров с гастролями и для съёмок специального промо-фильма. В Кингстоне (столице страны) группу приветствовал тогдашний премьер-министр Эдвард Сеага, а также Рита Марли, вдова короля музыки рэггей Боба Марли. Более того, Рита Марли даже выступила на сцене вместе с Boney M., исполнив бессмертный хит "Rivers of Babylon". В кингстонской студии Боба Марли Boney M. записали часть аудиоматериала для альбома "Boonoonoonoos".
В работе над видеоверсией титульного трэка мы использовали архивные кино- и видеозаписи германского телеканала ZDF, а также дополнили их новыми кадрами "танцующего острова" (именно так часто называют Ямайку за весёлый и темпераментный нрав её жителей).
Кстати, если кто-то ещё не знает: обе вокалистки Boney M. (Марсия Баррэтт и Лиз Митчелл) родились именно на Ямайке.
И ещё один интересный факт. Загадочное слово "Boonoonoonoos" на местном ямайском диалекте английского языка означает ёмкое понятие "очень очень здорово/классно/круто/хорошо". Так пожелаем же всем в 2014-м году именно этого.
