About the boycott of the festival "Disco 80s" / О бойкоте фестиваля "Дискотека 80-х"

We are currently solving the issue of a boycott of the "Disco 80's" festival.

Since the leadership of the Profmedia Broadcasting Corporation (the owner of the Avtoradio and Disco 80s brands) has joined the political struggle on the side of the Kremlin, we propose to discuss possible actions on our part.

For many years, FFFclub has been promoting "Disco 80s", publishing positive materials about this festival and covering all the main events associated with it. At the same time, we turned a blind eye to the fact that ProfMedia has close ties to the Kremlin administration and is an important element in the propaganda campaign to revive the long-bankrupt USSR in the minds of Russian citizens. All these red flags with a hammer and sickle, pioneer caps and ties flashing in the forefront are designed to send the main message to the zombified population: it was good and wonderful in the USSR, it's time to think about returning to the "bright past". In many ways, this action is designed to intoxicate the youth audience, creating the illusion of well-being and prosperity under a militarized communist regime.

However, all those who fully drank shit from the Soviet trough are unlikely to want to return to such a past, where the media praise the Secretary General of the Central Committee of the CPSU around the clock, and fights break out in stores over scarce goods. Naturally, the censorship that prevailed then in all spheres of life, as well as the brutal persecution of political opponents of the regime, cannot inspire either.

Today, the perniciousness of such a vector of the country's development is obvious to every reasonable person. The insanity that gripped Kremlin propagandists and State Duma deputies, open political repressions and renewed censorship make us think about the advisability of participating in the big fake project "Back to the USSR".

As you know, some stars of the 80s have already refused to participate in the Avtoradio festival (albeit a very popular one), taking place in a country where elementary rights are violated. The Russian leadership defiantly refuses to adhere to the letter and spirit of the international obligations to which it itself has signed (meaning the Charter of Human Rights approved by the UN, the European Convention and other fundamental documents).

Trampling on elementary constitutional norms, the Kremlin denies citizens such an inalienable right as participation in free elections. The owners of ProfMedia joined in sabotaging the election campaign of Moscow Mayor candidate Alexei Navalny by denying him legally paid airtime on Avtoradio. In such a situation, we cannot stand aside and continue to pretend that nothing is happening.

Unfortunately, the soloist of Boney M. Liz Mitchell (either consciously or because of absolute lack of information) continues to participate in shameful Kremlin projects such as the 2014 Olympics or the infamous "charitable" Foundation "Federation". In part, we have already talked about this on the pages of our resource, but today we have to make a final and unambiguous choice.

In 1978, the arrival of Boney M. in Moscow was the clearest symbol of the beginning of the fall of the "Iron Curtain", and this could only be welcomed. But at present, the actions of Liz Mitchell and her manager Thomas Pemberton are actually encouraging Russia to move in a diametrically opposite direction, which is very sad for many fans of the group.

In this regard, registered visitors of the FFFclub forum are invited to participate in the discussion "does it make sense to send our press group to the next "Disco" or declare a boycott of this event before better times?"

В настоящее время мы решаем вопрос о бойкоте фестиваля "Дискотека 80-х".
Поскольку руководство Вещательной корпорации "Профмедиа" (владелец брендов "Авторадио" и "Дискотека 80-х") включилось в политическую борьбу на стороне Кремля, предлагаем обсудить возможные действия с нашей стороны.
Многие годы FFFclub занимался продвижением "Дискотеки 80-х", публикуя позитивные материалы об этом мероприятии и освещая все основные события с ним связанные.
В то же время мы закрывали глаза на тот факт, что "Профмедиа" имеет тесные связи с кремлёвской администрацией и является важным элементом пропагандистской кампании по реанимации "совка" в сознании российских граждан. Все эти красные флаги с серпом и молотом, пионерские пилотки и галстуки, маячащие в первых рядах, призваны послать главный месседж зомбированному населению: в СССР было хорошо и прекрасно, пора задуматься о возвращении в "светлое прошлое". Во-многом действо рассчитано на одурманивание молодёжной аудитории, создавая иллюзию благоденствия и процветания при милитаризированном коммунистическом режиме.
Однако те, кто сполна хлебнул дерьма из советского корытца, вряд ли захочет возвращаться в такое прошлое, где СМИ круглосуточно превозносят генсека, а в магазинах дефицит всего и вся. Естественно, не может вдохновлять и цензура, царившая тогда во всех сферах жизни, а также преследование политических оппонентов режима.
Сегодня пагубность такого вектора развития страны очевидна каждому разумному человеку. Маразм, охвативший кремлёвских пропагандистов и думцев, открытые политические репрессии и возродившаяся цензура, заставляют нас задуматься о целесообразности участия в большом фейк-проекте "Назад в СССР".
Как известно, некоторые звёзды 80-х уже отказалась от участия в фестивале "Авторадио" (пусть и весьма раскрученном), проходящем в стране, где попираются элементарные права. Российское руководство демонстративно отказывается придерживаться буквы и духа международных обязательств, под которыми само же подписалось (имеются ввиду Хартия прав человека, утверждённая в ООН, Европейская конвенция и другие основополагающие документы).
Попирая элементарные конституционные нормы, Кремль отказывает гражданам и в таком неотъемлемом праве как участие в свободных выборах. Владельцы "Профмедиа" присоединилось к саботажу предвыборной кампании кандидата на пост мэра Москвы Алексея Навального, отказав ему в законно оплаченном эфире на "Авторадио". В такой ситуации мы не можем оставаться в стороне и продолжать делать вид, что ничего не происходит.
К сожалению, экс-солистка Boney M. Лиз Митчелл (то ли сознательно, то ли из-за абсолютной неинформированности) продолжает участвовать в позорных кремлёвских проектах типа Олимпиады 2014 или скандально известного "благотворительного" фонда "Федерация". Частично мы уже говорили об этом на страницах нашего ресурса, но сегодня придётся сделать окончательный и недвусмысленный  выбор.
В 1978 году приезд Boney M. в Москву был ярчайшим символом начала падения "железного занавеса", и это можно было только приветствовать. Сегодня же действия Лиз Митчелл и её менеджера Томаса Пэмбертона фактически поощряют движение в диаметрально противоположном направлении, что очень печалит многих поклонников группы. 
В связи с этим зарегистрированные посетители форума FFFclub приглашены для участия в дискуссии "имеет ли смысл посылать нашу пресс-группу на очередную "Дискотеку" или объявить бойкот этому мероприятию до наступления лучших времён?"
