Majestic & Boney M. continue to strengthen their position in the world charts

Majestic and Boney M. have unveiled the riotous official video for their smash ‘Rasputin’, out on Friday 23rd April.

Shot at Soho nightclub The Box and featuring a star-studded cast that includes Ru Paul’s Drag Race finalist Bimini Bon Boulash, Pete from grime duo Pete & Bas and an array of the venue’s entertainers, the official video for ‘Rasputin’ is an invigorating dose of nighttime debauchery.

A certified hit, the track has already racked up 15 million Spotify streams, peaked in the UK TOP30 and hit №1 on Shazam, iTunes and Beatport. Not stopping there, the track has broken the Top 50 on the Global Shazam Chart, made the UK Top 40 on Spotify UK, sits in the Top 20 on the Apple Music Chart and was named their Hottest Song last week. The track continues to break boundaries since making it onto the BBC Radio 1 playlist, A-list playlists at Capital FM, Heart, and has confirmed support from MTV, The Box, ITN, Sunday Brunch and Lorraine.

Crossing into a multitude of dance music genres, from UK Garage and house to D&B and Dubstep, Majestic has performed with the likes of Sigma, DJ EZ, MJ Cole, Judge Jules, and Laidback Luke. Boney M. has climbed the global TOP200 of the most demanded artists of the musical digital platforms

In recent years, Boney M. usually appears in the global TOP-200 during the New Year period, when their Christmas and dance hits are especially in demand in the world. However, in 2021, this tradition was broken due to the increased demand for their 43-year-old bestseller "Rasputin", which has found its second youth on social media, especially on TikTok. In addition, this song has long attracted the creators of the Just Dance challenge, where it has enjoyed consistent success for over 10 years. Therefore, it is not surprising that the refreshed hit "Rasputin", modernized by British DJ Majestic earlier this year, has caused another surge of interest in the work of Frank Farian's most successful project.

According to the report of the statistical Internet portal KWORB, which monitors the position in the world digital download charts in real time on the iTunes, Apple Music and Spotify platforms, Boney M. has climbed to 148th place in the  TOP200 artists rating of the planet. This is quite an impressive result for the German music industry, given the fierce competition from newfangled K-pop youth projects, as well as from the artists from US and UK at the peak of popularity.

Majestic & Boney M. "Rasputin" reached №1 in UK iTunes

By the evening of March 31st, Majestic & Boney M.'s new remix "Rasputin" reached №1 on the UK iTunes Digital Download Chart. Thus, it became obvious that the total time of the hit "Rasputin" in the UK TOP-100 Singles is guaranteed to reach 15 weeks. This is one of those rare occasions that a 43-year-old bestseller is given a second life in the new century.

There has also been an increase in the number of purchases of this track on Apple Music and iTunes platforms in some key markets in continental Europe, Asia, Latin America and the Pacific region.

On April 2nd, "Rasputin" also improved its position in the US iTunes TOP-1000, moving up more than 300 points. At the time of this posting, the song was №691. The Russian iTunes TOP-1000 also saw an increase in the number of downloads by the end of the week, which allowed this hit to strengthen its positions in the local chart by more than 250 points (now №330).

В российском iTunes TOP-1000 к концу недели также наблюдается рост количества загрузок, что позволило этому хиту укрепить позиции в местном чарте более чем на 250 пунктов (№330).
