DOVE HOUSE RECORDS (DHR) re-releases Liz Mitchell’s entire solo catalog on streamings- and download services

Liz Mitchell, the world-famous lead singer of the legendary pop group Boney M. will finally re-release her entire solo catalog, which she recorded for her own Dove House Records label, online worldwide on streamings- and download-services. This is the first time her solo recordings appear online officially.

Liz Mitchell started her career 50 years ago in the Berlin cast of the musical ‘Hair’. After ‘Hair’ Mitchell was part of the very successful Les Humpries Singers, and after quitting Liz returned to the UK, but after a short while, she received a phone call from Germany asking to join a new group which producer Frank Farian was forming. Liz gave it a try and soon Boney M. became one of the most successful groups in music history with legendary hits like ‘Daddy Cool’, ‘Sunny’, ‘Ma Baker’, ‘Rivers Of Babylon’, ‘Mary’s Boy Child/Oh My Lord’, ‘Rasputin’ and many more. With Boney M. Liz sold over 150 million records (including digital downloads - over 220 million), and the amount of Boney M. sales is still growing. After the split of the original Boney M. line-up in the second half of the ’80s Liz started her solo career in 1988, releasing her debut solo album ‘No One Will Force You’ soon after. Starting all over again after Boney M.’s split, Liz has worked her way up since, becoming a much demanded live act all across the world as Boney M. ft. Liz Mitchell. Besides the heavy touring Liz has continued recording as a solo artist and releasing music since. She has released 5 solo albums, and several single releases and EP’s, including the critically acclaimed spiritual album ‘Let It Be’ in 2004. Liz Mitchell’s solo catalog will be released in 8 different throws during the coming 8 weeks. The first throw was released on Friday, October 23rd. It was ‘No One Will Force You’ (1989) and it’s corresponding singles and remixes. The album added with 2 bonus tracks and some of the corresponding remixes released in a digital format for the first time.

From then on Mitchell’s catalog will be added with a new throw every week, ending on December 11th, 2020, when the digital re-issue program is completed. In total there will be over 80 Liz Mitchell tracks released on the platforms, including some previously unreleasedmaterial.

Boney M's soloist Reggie Tsiboe celebrates his 70th birthday

Reggie Tsiboe was born on September 7, 1950 in the city of Kumasi (Ghana). Even as a teenager, his parents sent him to study in England, hoping to raise him as a diplomat. However, the young man had completely different hobbies, which eventually led him to show business. In the 1970s, Reggie rose to prominence as a musician, producer and actor, taking part in several projects, and as an actor in music shows in London's West End. In the 1980s, he became famous as one of the soloists of the legendary pop group Boney M. In Frank Farian's project, he worked from 1982 to 1986, and then from 1989 to 1990. 

In 1982, Tsiboe replaced dancer Bobby Farrell, but in 1984 Farrell returned to the group and they became a quintet. In 1986, the original group disbanded after 10 years of a successful international career. In 1989, Liz Mitchell and Reggie formed a new official version of Boney M., and in 1990 released the single "Stories" with the help of producer Frank Farian. However, after a few months, both went their own ways.
Tsiboe appeared on the last 3 albums of Boney M .: Ten Thousand Lightyears (1984), Kalimba de Luna - 16 Happy Songs (1984) and Eye Dance (1985), and also recorded Christmas hits for Boney M., which were released on internationally only after the official closure of the project in 1986 (LP/CD The 20 Greatest Christmas Songs). Reggie sang lead vocals on several famous Boney M's songs, including "Kalimba de Luna", "Happy Song", "Going Back West", "My Cherie Amour", "Young, Free and Single", "Dreadlock Holiday" and Barbarella Fortuneteller.
On September 21, 2006, Reggie and two other Boney M's soloists, Liz Mitchell and Marcia Barratt, were special guests in London for the premiere of the musical Daddy Cool, which is based on the music of the famous band.
Before joining Boney M., he was also a movie star in Ghana. One of his films that gained popularity was Love Brewed in an African Pot. After retiring from Boney M., Reggie returned to acting work, taking part in the recording of several radio shows and in the filming of television series, among which the cult Doctor Who can be distinguished.
Reggie Tsiboe currently resides in Marlborough, Wiltshire, England.
