Interesting news has been coming in lately from the participants of Frank Farian's LA BOUCHE project.
In his Facebook blog, the permanent rapper of the famous pop duo, Lane McCray, published information indicating that the group has reunited in one of the "classic" lineups with the participation of Swedish star Kayo Shikoni (stage name Kayo).
After Lane once again moved from the US to Germany to launch his new solo project (which we reported earlier), there have been increasing signs that he is interested in continuing to work (at least touring) with LA BOUCHE.
Some time ago, the musician posted a couple of photos on his blog, testifying to his recent meeting with the group's producer Frank Farian and his company's production coordinator Ingrid "Milli" Segieth. This happened in Miami (USA), where Farian currently spends most of his time.
Lane did not specify what exactly was the subject of their negotiations, but soon after that, a photo with his long-time colleague from the LE CLICK and LA BOUCHE projects, Kayo Shekoni, appeared on his blog.
Let us recall that both groups were among the trendsetters of dance fashion in the 90s and were supervised by the record label Logic and Farian's production company FAR Music (FMP).
Following the tragic death of LA BOUCHE's original lead singer Melanie Thornton in a plane crash on November 24, 2001, Frank Farian enlisted Kayo to record a tribute single dedicated to Melanie's memory. The Swede contributed missing vocals to the previously unreleased track "In Your Life", which had already been partially recorded by Melanie before her departure from LA BOUCHE. The unfinished material was filed away, but the tragic death of Melanie Thornton forced Farian to bring it back to work. The help of Kayo Shekoni with her expressive vocals came in handy.
The result was a wonderful tribute single and album, which included the best tracks of LA BOUCHE and Melanie Thornton. The discs sold well in Europe and America.In the US, "In Youre Life" entered the top ten of the Billboard club chart. Lane McCray provided concert support for this release together with Kayo Shekoni.
As far as we know, Frank Farian's company archives contain many more LA BOUCHE recordings with Melanie's vocals. For example, among fans there is information about a Christmas album of the band that was being prepared, which was recorded (at least in a rough version), but never saw the light of day. There are even a couple of tracks that someone posted on the Internet.
It is not yet known whether the issue of publishing (or re-recording) the unreleased material was raised during the meeting between Farian and McCrae. Neither the singer nor his new/old colleague on the project have commented on the events. Nevertheless, LA BOUCHE's recent trip to the Hungarian capital Budapest took place in the Lane/Kayo lineup.

В своём блоге на facebook бессменный рэпер знаменитого поп-дуэта Лэйн МакКрэй опубликовал информацию, указывающую на то, что группа воссоединилась в одном из "классических" составов с участием шведской звезды Кайо Шекони (сценический псевдоним Kayo).
После того как Лэйн в очередной раз перебрался из США в Германию с целью запуска своего нового сольного проекта (о чём мы уже сообщали ранее), всё чаще стали появляться признаки того, что он проявляет интерес и к продолжению работы (по крайней мере гастрольной деятельности) в LA BOUCHE.
Некоторое время назад музыкант опубликовал в своём блоге пару фото, свидетельствующих о его недавней встрече с продюсером группы Фрэнком Фарианом и производственным координатором его компании Ингрид "Милли" Сегит (Ingrid "Milli" Segieth). Насколько известно, в архивах компании Фрэнка Фариана хранится ещё немало записей LA BOUCHE с вокалом Мелани. Например, среди фанов распространена информация о готовившемся рождественском альбоме группы, который был записан (по крайней в черновом варианте), но так и не увидел свет. Имеется даже пара трэков, выложенных кем-то в интернет.
Был ли поднят вопрос о публикации (или перезаписи) невыпущенного материала во время встречи Фариана и МакКрэя, пока неизвестно. Ни певец, ни его новая/старая коллега по проекту никак не комментируют происходящее.
Тем не менее недавняя поездка LA BOUCHE в столицу Венгрии Будапешт состоялась именно в составе Lane/Kayo...
