Remastered albums from the kings of disco funk ERUPTION are released on the British label BBR / Ремастированные альбомы королей диско-фанка ERUPTION выходят на британском лэйбле BBR

Long-awaited remastered editions of ERUPTION's classic disco-funk albums "I Can't Stand The Rain" (1977) and "Leave A Light" (1979) will be released via Big Break Records (BBR) in early August 2016.

Almost 40 years after the first release on the West German label HANSA International, these works by legendary producer Frank Farian's team are finally available on digital media. Prior to that, only compilations were released on CD, and many hits were presented there in later remix versions, which did not suit fans of the group's work. And now ERUPTION fans who have lived to see this bright day will be able to replenish their collections with two albums at once with the vocals of the unsurpassed Precious Wilson.

The British label BBR, which specializes in popular music of the 70s-80s, decided to please fans of disco and funk styles with extended versions of these classic albums. In addition to having solid booklets with the band's biography and detailed credits, the albums are complemented by several bonus tracks.

This is also a great gift for all fans of Frank Farian, whose 75th birthday was celebrated on July 18, 2016.

Recall that during the entire anniversary year (2016-2017), we expect new releases from the famous producer. And these are not only music publications, but also a documentary film about the scandalous pop duo MILLI VANILLI (the premiere took place on July 23 on the ARTE TV channel) and a large European tour of Farian's musical DADDY COOL.

До этого на CD выходили исключительно сборники, причём многие хиты там были представлены в поздних ремикс-версиях, что не устраивало поклонников творчества группы. И теперь фаны ERUPTION, дожившие до этого светлого дня, смогут пополнить свои коллекции сразу двумя альбомами с вокалом непревзойдённой Прэшес Уилсон (Precious Wilson).

Британский лэйбл BBR, специализирующийся на популярной музыке 70-х-80-х, решил порадовать любителей стилей disco и funk расширенными версиями этих классических альбомов. Помимо наличия солидных буклетов с биографией группы и подробными кредитами, альбомы дополнены несколькими бонус-трэками.

ERUPTION "Go Johnnie, Go" (1980)

The video channel FFFclub has replenished with a new remastered video of the group ERUPTION "Go Johnnie, Go" (the single of the same name was released in support of the 1980 LP).

The original recording was made at the Munich studio of the West German broadcaster ZDF, where the artists performed as part of the popular music TV show DISCO. It was the opening track for the album "Fight, Fight, Fight", which the band recorded with new vocalist Kim Davis, who replaced Precious Wilson. By then, Precious had decided to pursue a solo career under the direction of ERUPTION producer Frank Farian.

The release of the new LP of the popular ensemble was accompanied by tragic events. Shortly after recording the album "Fight, Fight, Fight", Kim Davis died after a road accident. The car hit the singer, who was walking down the street, after which Kim died of a cerebral hemorrhage. ERUPTION's producers Frank Farian and Reiner M. Erhardt were forced to urgently seek replacements. The third (and last) soloist of the quintet was Jane Jochen. At first, in various TV shows, she had to sing to the soundtrack, made with Kim Davis, since it was impossible to interrupt the planned promotional campaign of the new album (the contract with the record label HANSA provided for a busy touring schedule and television appearances). Later, when the musicians returned to the studio, new material was recorded with vocals by Jane Jochen.

The cover of the album "Fight, Fight, Fight" also had to be redone urgently. In a number of publications, a photo of the group with Kim Davis was placed on the front side, and a new photo with Jane Jochen was presented on the back.

The video that we present to our blog visitors today has been re-edited and converted to widescreen format (for easy viewing on modern TVs and monitors). In addition, the monophonic sound of the archived footage has been replaced with a stereo track from the original 1980 album.

Видеоканал FFFclub пополнился новым ремастированным видео группы ERUPTION "Go Johnnie, Go" (одноимённый сингл вышел в поддержку LP 1980 года).

Оригинальная запись была сделана в мюнхенской студии западногерманской телекомпании ZDF, где артисты выступали в рамках популярного музыкального телешоу DISCO. Это был вводный трэк альбома "Fight, Fight, Fight", который группа записала с новой лидер-вокалисткой Ким Дэвис (Kim Davis), пришедшей на смену Прэшес Уилсон (Precious Wilson). К тому времени Прэшес решила начать сольную карьеру под руководством продюсера ERUPTION Фрэнка Фариана.

Выход новой работы популярного ансамбля сопровождался трагическими событиями. Вскоре после записи альбома "Fight, Fight, Fight" Ким Дэвис погибла в результате дорожного инцидента. Автомобиль сбил певицу, которая шла по улице, после чего Ким скончалась от кровоизлияния в мозг.

Продюсеры ERUPTION Фрэнк Фариан (Frank Farian) и Райнер Эрхардт (Reiner M. Erhardt) были вынуждены срочно искать замену. Третьей (и последней) солисткой квинтета стала Джейн Йохен (Jane Jochen). Поначалу в различных телешоу ей приходилось петь под фонограмму, сделанную ещё с Ким Дэвис, поскольку спланированную заранее промо-кампанию нового альбома прерывать было невозможно (контракт с рекорд-лэйблом HANSA предусматривал плотный гастрольный график и выступления на телевидении).

Позже, когда музыканты вернулись в студию, был записан новый материал уже с вокалом Джейн Йохен.

Обложку альбома "Fight, Fight, Fight" также пришлось срочно переделывать. В ряде изданий на титульной стороне была помещена фотография группы с Ким Дэвис, а на обороте было представлено новое фото, но уже с Джейн Йохен.

Видео, которое мы сегодня представляем посетителям нашего блога, было заново смонтировано и переведено в широкоэкранный формат (для удобства просмотра на современных телевизорах и мониторах). Кроме того, монофонический звук архивной видеозаписи был заменён стереодорожкой с оригинального альбома 1980 года.
