Честно говоря, мы уже почти не надеялись, что это произойдёт. Дело в том, что примерно год назад Google изменила правила отображения количества просмотров и стала "перебрасывать" часть статистики на так называемые "официальные каналы", которые курируют правообладатели.
Видеоклип "Sunny" несколько раз подбирался к отметке 50.000.000, но каждый раз Google списывал несколько миллионов "голосов" из статистики нашего канала. При этом внутренняя статистика, недоступная обычным пользователям, показывала совсем другие цифры. В последний год среднее количество просмотров этого видео составляло примерно 900.000 в месяц, а отметку 50.000.000 видеоклип должен был преодолеть задолго до того, как это удалось сделать "Gotta Go Home", нынешнему фавориту рейтинга с почти 57 миллионами просмотров.
Таким образом, манипуляции youtube с количеством просмотров сильно искажают реальные цифры рейтинга, что является неприемлемым.
Напомним, что видеоклип "Sunny" был создан участниками FFFclub в 2006-м году, к 30-летнему юбилею с момента основания классического состава Boney M. В свой работе мы использовали архивные съёмки телеканала Radio Bremen/ARD с фрагментами выступлений Boney M. в популярном шоу "MusikLaden". Наш клип был впервые опубликован в том же году и стал набирать популярность, но затем youtube удалил его из-за существовавшей тогда практики решения проблем с правообладателями.
Вновь загрузить это видео нам удалось лишь в середине июня 2008 года, когда Google договорился с Sony/BMG об отчислении средств в их казну от рекламы, сопровождающей показ видео.
Напомним, что видеоканал FFFclub прнципиально не монетизирует ни оно видео (даже если все права на видеоматериал принадлежат нам). Канал существует исключительно в ознакомительных и просветительских целях и не извлекает никакой коммерческой выгоды. Мы искренне надеемся, что компания Sony Music (нынешний дистрибютер продукции Фрэнка Фариана) получает достаточное количество средств от десятков миллионов просмотров, которые ежегодно генерирует наш видеоканал и перечисляет часть доходов Фрэнку Фариану и его артистам.
Video Boney M. "Sunny" broke 50 million views on the FFFclub youtube channel
Today, "justice has triumphed": Google (owner of youtube social video hosting) has finally allowed the Boney M. "Sunny" clip to overcome the symbolic bar of 50 million views.
Honestly, we almost did not hope that this would happen. The fact is that about a year ago, Google changed the rules for displaying the number of views and began to "transfer" part of the statistics to the so-called "official channels", which are supervised by the rights holders.
The video clip "Sunny" has already approached the mark 50,000,000 several times, but each time Google dropped several million "votes" from the statistics of our channel. At the same time, internal statistics, inaccessible to ordinary users, showed completely different numbers.
Over the past year, the average number of views of this video was approximately 900,000 per month.
A mark of 50,000,000 views of "Sunny" must be overcome long before it happened with the "Gotta Go Home" (nearly 57 million views). Thus, youtube manipulations with the number of views strongly distort the real numbers of the rating, which is unacceptable.
Recall that the video clip "Sunny" was created by members of the FFFclub in 2006, the 30th anniversary of the founding of the classic line-up of Boney M. In our work, we used archive filming of the Radio Bremen / ARD channel with fragments of Boney M's performances in the popular show "MusikLaden".
Our video was first published in the same year and began to gain popularity, but then youtube removed it because of the then practice of solving problems with copyright holders.
We managed to re-download this video only in the middle of June 2008, when Google agreed with Sony/BMG to disburse funds to their treasury from advertisements accompanying the video.
Recall that all monetary payments from video views on the FFFclub channel are received by the right holders (now this is Sony Music). FFFclub fundamentally does not monetize any videos in its favor, even if some video materials are our property. The channel exists solely for informational and educational purposes. We sincerely hope that Sony Music (the current distributor of Frank Farian’s products) receives a sufficient amount of money from the tens of millions of views that our video channel generates annually and lists part of the income to Frank Farian and his artists.
